It's time to eat like a man and give credit where credit is due

It’s time to give credit where credit is due

We formally apologize to the Denver Broncos for calling them the worst 4-0 team in history, not just because they won a tough overtime game against a good team, but because they have shown a pattern of doing so, and that’s what good teams do. Starting the with “immaculate deflection”, to “Marshall’s Miracle”, and ending with “D-day” when they shut out the high powered New England offense in the second half leading to a 20-17 victory, vindication of the student over the mastermind, an undefeated 5-0 record, and ‘crow ala king’ for various pundits across the NFL including us. It may seem like last year’s news but a month and a half ago, the city of Denver was ready to burn the Josh ‘McDaniels, “the Patriot infiltrator”, at the stake, after letting pro-bowler Jay Cutler go to Chicago in “Pau-Gasol like” fashion not seeming to get anything in return, then citing Brandon Marshall for conduct detrimental and threatening to keep him on the pine. However, 6 weeks later, the Broncos are 5-0 for the first time in 11 years, they have 10 productive rookies on their 40-man roster, and have shown copious amounts of intestinal fortitude in the final minutes of games to steal victories in situations that Shanny let slip away over the past 3 years. Ok, apology accepted? Now it’s time for the cynic to rear his ugly head. Let’s not forget this is a team that has not been 2 games over .500 since 2005, Kyle Orton is 16th in passing percentage (Denver is 15th overall), and they have a BRUTAL schedule up coming where 5 of their next 6 opponents have winning records (SD, Pitt, Bal, NYG) and four teams are ranked in the top 10 defensively ( Pitt, Bal, Wash, NYG). I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’ it’s not beyond the realm possibility that they could be 5-5 come Thanksgiving. We’re not predicting this, but it we wouldn’t be surprised. I guess we were still hungry because we’ve put ourselves in line for a second helping. When do you think the Bronco’s ride will finally end? What do you think their record will be at the end of the season?

The Patriots will be fine. They get the Titants at home then they go to England to play the worst team in the NFC in Tampa Bay, then the bye week. The Pats should be 5-2 heading into the Bye. Most of us would have taken 5-2 before the bye.

so we lost to denver on the road. not a big deal. refs are all homers in the nfl, see our game last week against the ravens. we'll see what the broncos are made of when they have a tough road game. looked at their schedule, don't know if they have a tough road game!!

The pass interference call was made because dude hit him before the ball arrived, which is TOTALLY legal after the ball is tipped. So the flag was picked up.. ref should have said there are 2 flags on the play... Everyone there seen it, However the television audience seemed to miss it

i agree about brady. he looks tentative out there. he doesnt seem to be throwing the ball with the same kind of authority and confidence we are used to see from him. and props to the denver defense. where was this defense last season? it could have gotten them a super bowl.

The Broncos are frauds, they will lose 3 or 4 of their next 5 games after their bye week...

Man, when Denver was 4-0 a lot of Pats fans said they'd expose them Sunday. That's why you play the game, and that's why you don't make predictions from reputations, you make them off performances. Good game Denver.

Like I said, great game. Keep your heads up Pats fans... your team will be there in December just like they always are. But don't make excuses. It just makes you look bad. Fellow Broncos fans, I'll see you on the Chargers board. GO BRONCOS!

Dear Pats fans, #

After Losing to the Broncos I will tell you what I have told the last victims...
Don'y gert down on your team after losing to the Broncos... It will happen to A Lot of teams this yr... Just because you couldn't pull out a victory in Mile High doesn't mean you guys are not good.. Okay ???
You seen what the loss did to the Cowboys... And if you watched ANY of those games you would realize that Ther Broncos Beat the Cownboys SOUNDLY the Final score was NOT indicative of the dominance the Broncos showed.. The 10 points Dallas scored ?? all in the first QTR. SHUT DOWN for the qrtrs and denied on the final drive of the game...

Why didn't the NFL care about its players before Brady got hurt? Certainly he was not the first to be injured for the season? He was however, the highest profile player on the highest profile team to get injured for the season. and immediately there was a rule change.......because people stopped watching the Pats...... at least fewer watched without Brady......and the same would happen if other QBs went down.....

I'm not even going to argue about Moss being an amazing receiver. The fact that you some say he never makes a spectacular catch is absurd, and it's even more absurd that your justification for that is that Sunday he had one slip right through his hands. He had a bad game, he got shut down. He is also a captain on the Patriots for a reason. I suggest you youtube some highlight catches and then tell me Moss doesn't make spectacular catches. Enough said on that.

C'mon fellow Pats fans, no excuses...Pats looked better than they did against Baltimore, and they'll look plenty beeter next week at home against the Titans. They played a tough opponent to OT on the road. The taunting penalty sucked, losing the OT coin toss sucked...we gotta deal with it. The Pats are getting better, you can see it with each passing game. We haven't lost the divsion yet, and even if we finish 10-6 that'll still be good enough to get the wild-card. The Patriots are fine, we'll be playing in January. Fans and haters alike, just relax. Enjoy the season...

I love the pats fans that refuse to give the broncos any credit... saying how the broncos didnt win the game but the pats lost it... well how do you think the pats got their first win this year? they didnt win the game, the bills lost it... for all intents and purposes the pats SHOULD be 2-3 this year... actually they could be 1-4 if mason didnt drop that first down catch last week, so count yourselves lucky pats fans...

And WTF is up with Mike Ditka always trying to prove to people about how the Broncos are a fluke? Every week on Sunday NFL Countdown, he tries to dis-credit the Broncos and in so doing makes himself look like an ####. I dont know why him and Keyshawn Johnson are on the show. Those two dont make sense.
Ditka, dont hate; Apreciate.

but i will say....tom brady SUCKS now....and i mean truly SUCKS. He misses wide open recievers ALLLLLL the time. How do you overthrow an open randy moss to the sideline only 10 yards down the field??????? bradys arrogance is costing him i believe, same with belichick. They both think they are so much smarter than everyone and their system has failed them last year and is failing them this year. Maybe its time to keep some of your players and stop thinking you can axe anybody and that they are easily replaced all the time.

i hate to rain on you broncos fans parade, but there is ONE FACT that you are missing, and im not a bronco OR patriots fan. Brady missed TWO HUGE WIDE OPENNNNNNNN passes that any decent qb in the league wouldve made and that wouldve won the pats this game. he misses moss deep wide open, then he missed welker at the end of that game and if this was the giants or colts or even the vikings, those passes wouldve been made easily. The broncos have won three super close games by luck. I do NOT believe in the broncos. Think about this, they bareeeeeeeeeeeely won and needed overtime to a new england team that has declined dramatically and only had 300 yards on offense with two missed easy tds.....what does that say about the broncos? are they good? YES, are they great NO. Give me the colts, giants, vikings, saints and actually, give me the patriots in a rematch over the broncos. IM GONNA LAUGH when your broncos LOSE in the playoffs.

It is funny the people who think the Broncos are just pretenders. Denver beats New England and all of a sudden New England is a good team. Lets give the Broncos some credit, New England is a team that knows how to win, but Denver pulled this one off. Is there any 5-0 team in the AFC with all at least 4 wins against quality teams. The answer is no, it is only week 5. I am sure if Denver beats Pittsburg everyone will say how this is a down year for the Steelers. Excuses everywhere. Yes, if this was college football, who you beat would matter, but this is the NFL, they only care about number of wins.

I'm hoping the Broncos fans aren't getting too carried away here. They have wins over...Oakland..Clev eland...a miracle win over Cincy (more luck then skill and you know it), a Dallas team that almost lost to KC...and a N.E. team that is still not firing on all cylinders. Playoff team yes...contender....u m...no.

Denver is a pretty bad team, huh? So what does that make New England?

THE PATRIOTS SUC! DEAL WITH IT!

Way to go Broncos!

ohhhh it hurts! said...

Is anyone else out there sick of the NFL blowin' the Patriots???? Ok, they were once the team to beat, but they're just another "ok" team now. I think the Jets, Fins, Ravens, and about 3 other teams are just as good. oh yea, and there are 5 teams that are better, guess who one of them is???

BRONCOS BABY!!! 20-17

can we have a helping of respect stew (chuncky brand) please. after 3-0 we sacked (in one game) a QB ( Romo) who was sacked onley 3 times in three games. but noooo. it was "whats wrong with tony romo and the cowboys" not " wow look at that denver-D". not take it all in you haters. the pats and brady had 17 at the half but 0 after that. orten 35 comp. 330 yds and 2 tds? im a broncos fan but i didnt think he was capable of that kind of game. ill be the first to say i wasnt happy with McDaniels after running cutler out of town but i cant argue with the results. look at chicago and denver. i like our chances better than theirs.

At the start of the season everyone was riding off the Broncos. All the problems arising from Jay Cutler crying his way out of town. This was followed with questinable pick of Knowshon Moreno in this past NFL Draft. In addition to the problems surrounding Brandon Marshall... Here are the facts, Jay Cutler is just a gun sligger, couldn't lead a team to just one victory in the last four games of last season. You are a choke artist Cutler and will never win a Super Bowl. Next on my list is the 2009 draft class. Denver's defensive needs were addressed with the pick of Robert Ayers and Alphonso Smith. In addition to these two players several other players were brought into via free agency. Some of these players included Brain Dawkins and Vonnie Holliday. All of this supports my opinion that drafting Knowshon Moreno was a good move. If you leave him on the board San Diego picks him as the replacement for LT. Sorry Mighty Mouse Darren Sproles. Finally, Coach McDaniels has brought a winning attitude over from New England to the Mile High City. There is no doubt Denver will win the AFC and make the playoffs. There is no reason Denver should not win the AFC West. Here is why....Oakland is just terrible on both sides of the ball. The Chiefs have no rushing game, Cassell is injury prone, defense is garbage. The Chargers slow starts again is going to hurt them. Wake up San Diego this the NFL (Not For Long) this type of attitude is going to bite you in the end. Go Broncos!
